Cooling

Cool, quiet rooms through the warmest weeks.

Top-floor bedrooms, glazed extensions and home offices can become hard to use in summer. A well-placed air conditioning system keeps them at a comfortable temperature, and most modern units can also heat the room efficiently in spring and autumn.

What we do

How we approach it.

  1. 01

Survey the room and the route

We look at the size and orientation of the room, where the indoor unit will sit, where the outdoor unit can go, and the route for pipework and drainage. In older Bath properties, that route is usually the deciding factor.

  2. 02

    Recommend the right system

A single wall unit, a multi-split serving several rooms, or a discreet ducted or ceiling cassette option. We explain the trade-offs in noise, appearance and running cost.

  3. 03

    Install neatly

Pipework is planned to be as unobtrusive as the building allows, with the outdoor unit positioned to limit noise for you and your neighbours. Refrigerant work is carried out under our F-Gas certification.

  4. 04

Show you how to use it

We set the system up, walk you through the controls and explain the maintenance it needs to keep running quietly and efficiently.

Good to know

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Much of Bath is listed or in a conservation area, where outdoor units may need permission. We will point out what is likely to apply at survey; you should confirm with the council before work starts.

Servicing

Air conditioning runs best with regular cleaning and checks. It can be included in a Greens + plan.

Questions

Is air conditioning noisy?

Modern indoor units are designed to run quietly, especially at lower fan speeds. The outdoor unit makes more noise, so where it goes matters. We plan its position with that in mind.

Can air conditioning heat as well as cool?

Most modern systems we install work as heat pumps in reverse, so they can provide efficient heating in milder weather as well as cooling in summer.

How long does an installation take?

A single room is often completed in a day. Multi-room systems take longer, and we will give you a timescale with your quote.
